Top 4 Ideas-Practical

The crit is coming up and I feel really lost with the practical. There are so many directions I could take and I feel quite overwhelmed and lost. During my last tutorial with Fred, he suggested that I pick my top 4 ideas and bring them along to the crit. The idea being that my peers help me decide which to choose. I wrote my ideas down in my sketchbook but they're a bit messy so I'll type them up here:


Idea One

Activity and information pack for homes: (my original idea)

- includes games and activities- child friendly
- facts on what you can freeze
- storage tips
- information on wonky food-they taste just as good-a said wonky parsnip?
- meal planner and shopping list so that people don't buy on impulse
- info on what food waste is
- what food banks are near you?- LOCAL
- any other tips
- magnets
- a student hand book?-dependent on audience


Idea Two

Educational material for schools:

- Includes basically all the things above but different format
- Magnetic learning?- magnetic freezer where kids can but stuff inside
- Big info boards
- Interactive
- Learning book- not lots of loose things they can lose
- Stuff for teachers to use
- Things for the canteen


Idea Three

Restaurant decor:

- Wall art - Illustrations of food on the wall
- To go in food waste cafe- make it more appealing- The real junk food project is really run down.
- Posters
- Menus
- Tea towels
- Printed plates, bowls etc
- Napkins
- Apron



Idea Four

Illustrated products on wonky veg:

- Learning material on wonky veg
- Make them funny-they have feelings too
- Activist- go in to store and leave info
- character design sticker on wonky veg to attract children-They'll ask to buy it!
- Make stickers and stick them on wonky food encouraging people to buy them.
- Wonky veg printed on to products- Crockery
- Tea towels
- Recipe cards
