I started thinking about how I'm going to layout my poster. This first image was just a rough test to see if my drawings would fit on an A2 page.
I preferred the layout landscape. I think that if I had it portrait then the woman would have to go in the middle of the page with the clothes around her. I thought that that would look to clutted and a lot of the cut of dolls I've seen have the doll on the left the the clothes to the right hand side of her.
I really liked this layout below. However I think the bottom right feels unbalanced because all the objects/clothes are smalelr tere and look a bit random. Maybe I could put some text in?
I also need a title!
I then realised I'd done all the drawing and the layout but I hadn't had added the scissors and the dotted line. I didn't know how to do this. I think if I drew them on it would look unprofessional and messy. I found a youtube tutorial that showed my ho to make the pen tool in to a dotted line. I didn't realised this could be done but it looks great!
I chose the name 'Nancy can do'. I chose the name Nancy after researching the top female names in the 1950s and Nancy was near the top. I wanted the title to suggest that she was strong and independent. I first thought of writing a word like 'independent' then hr name but it sounded stupid. I then thought of 'Nancy can do' which along with the outfits suggests that she can do anything a man can do.
