Progress

I've been trying to work out how I'm going to draw my person.
I think this top illustration isn't really my style and I'm not happy with how it looks.

I started to loosen up and became ore sketchy. My made issue is ow to draw the face. I want it to look good but not like other people's work. I don't want it to look too much like a typical cut out doll but my own style.

I drew this woman below and I'm much happier with it though it still needs work. I think her facial expression is too sad and her pose is too boring. She needs a facial expression and body pose that shows her as strong and maybe angry about the media.

I then made a test piece of clothing; a racing driver's uniform. I like the uniform as an idea but I don't think it sat right on the doll. It all looked a bit flimsy and I don't think it'll be very strong as a final piece.

Here I've repeated the woman's face. I tried small differences like facial expression and sizes of her features to see what works best. I thought it looked nice when I coloured in the cheeks with coloured pencil rather than pen. This helps the development of my work and repeating drawings helps my practice overall.

I did the same with underwear because I thought the underwear I drew wasn't 50s style enough. My plan is to make it quite 50s style so that it links well back to my essay.

I've decided that I'm going to go with the underwear style below because I think its the most 50s style and also because I like how its one piece rather than two because I'm not good at drawing the bottom part for some reason

I've drawn an improved version of my earlier drawing. I think the angry face and the strong pose suggests that she's strong and doesn't need a man.I think the underwear looks a lot better and sexualises her more.
